Each year Gardner's Regiment celebrates the life and commemorates the death of Doctor Joseph Warren at his graveside in Forest Hills Cemetery located in Jamaica Plain - a section of Boston, Massachusetts.
Doctor Warren was born on June 11, 1741. He attended Roxbury Latin Academy and then Harvard College. He was the father of four children. His wife died in 1772. Besides being a Physician, he was a Poet, Orator, President of the Massachusetts Provincial Congess, Mason, a member of the Son's of Liberty and on June 14, only three days before his death at the Battle of Bunker Hill he was appointed to the rank of Major General by the Continental Congress.
This years ceremony will be held on June 23, 2012. We will meet at the Main entrance of Forest Hills prior to 2 P.M. The ceremony will be slightly more than one hour in length.

Come join us. This is not the re enactment of an 18th Century Funeral - it is an opportunity for us to express our own admiration and appreciation for Doctor Warren. Persons are welcome in both 18th and 21st Century attire.
